“My husband and I stayed here for several days during the Thanksgiving holiday. It was quiet, free of nighttime light pollution (we live in a city, so this matters) and afforded us a peaceful, comfortable little vacation.” -Kathi
“Really enjoyed our trip! Gorgeous setting with lovely touches like nice linens, aromatherapy and soaps. Home is comfortable and cool. Location is near to McConnell state park and others – wonderful hiking, biking and kayaking. Recommend!” -Jill
“So much more than we expected, and to some degree that’s because of what is absent. Absence of noise, and the chorus of distraction so often ignored until it vanishes as it does in the woods. It was a place of discovery for us, and we hope our kind hosts will see fit to welcome us back some fine day. Thank you for this extraordinary experience.” -William
“This is such a wonderful place to stay! Jenni has done a spectacular job setting up this beautiful place. I loved all the nature all around, it’s even better than the pictures. Stay here if you can, it’s well worth it!” -Peter
“We 5 ‘older women’ needed a place to get away from day to day life for some relaxing, peaceful R&R. Forest & Flowers house was the perfect spot!! Comfortable and spacious enough for five of us, the house provided us opportunity to cook our dinners, have a yoga class in the living room, dine together and have a crafts afternoon. The porch in the early morning for coffee and tea was superb and conversation and s’mores around the fire pit connected us even more deeply! The outdoor tub and shower were great and an extra special treat! Lovely place any time, but especially so for summer solstice!” -Sherry
“This property was exactly the perfect place for me. Words can not adequately describe what a special and unique retreat this is. The physical beauty, peacefulness and healing I found during my stay is an experience I will hold forever in my heart. The hosts have anticipated the needs of their visitors, even supplying a whole array of organic cooking spices. The kitchen is fully equipped. There are several areas in and out of the house that are conducive to reading, relaxing, resting, meditating and contemplating. The surrounding areas are well worth exploring and offer an array of outdoor activities. I would whole heartedly recommend this magical property especially if you are in need of relaxing, restoring, or reconnecting with yourself and/or others.” -Kathryn
“Jenni was a great host and was flexible with me to open the outdoor tub weather permitting and let me check out late! The land is beautiful and the home is clean and cozy! I loved the special touches of essential oils, crystals, and the meditation space with sound bowls! I had a very relaxing stay!”
“This was my second time staying here. The first time was a girls weekend where we enjoyed a flower essences workshop with Jenni and this time a romantic getaway with my husband before the holiday craziness. Both times, I left inspired with new ideas to incorporate into my home and life. The house feels so peaceful, mirroring inside what you see outside. Jenni incorporates wellness amenities and thoughtful details that take it from an airbnb stay to a retreat. We enjoyed her recommendations of where to hike (Kildoo trail at McConnell’s Mill 10 minutes away) and eat (Fantastic lunch and beer at The Harmony Inn) and enjoyed walking the property and sleeping under the comforter that’s so lovely, I purchased one for my home. It’s clear that she’s thoughtful about every detail to curate a retreat experience in a home and on land that she obviously loves dearly.” -Amanda
“I’ve stayed here twice and absolutely plan to come back again. If you need a quiet, tranquil place to get away stop scrolling and book Forest and Flowers. Jenni is a wonderful host and had made such a peaceful place full of intention and calming touches.” -Shane
“The owner’s vision and passion for this property are clear. They have created a lovely healing retreat that is well appointed: luxurious bedding and linens, all the kitchen necessities, lovely outdoor spaces to enjoy the surrounding beauty and doTERRA products.”
“They have added very thoughtful touches: meditation cushions, higher end comfy bedding, tibetan singing bowl, lavender pillow sprays, doTERRA soaps/shampoos/etc., a guitar, yoga mats, reclining swing etc. The property itself is gorgeous and and well cared for but still holds it’s raw beauty. Really, just a fantastic place. I’m very glad we picked this house.” -Dianna
“The Forest and Flowers Retreat is an amazing place to relax and enjoy nature. This property exceeded our expectations by far. There are several trails in the surrounding hardwood forests that you can explore at your leisure, and the house itself is so peaceful and cozy. We all slept so comfortably, and we really enjoyed drinking the Leaf and Twig tea and eating the homemade granola that the host left for us! We only wish we could have stayed longer! We hope to stay again someday.” -Brittany
What a wonderful house! As pictured, but better. The design is strikingly beautiful and really helps everyone to relax and feel at peace. Thoughtful touches in every room, like handcrafted benches and tables that we will try to get for our home. We’re not normally big on tea, but this tea was really good! The outdoor spaces were perfect for our kids to play and explore. Two state parks just 10 minutes away: one with a dramatic rushing river/stream and terrific walks, the other a calmer with a lake, canoeing, and beach. Special trip, highly recommended. -Robert
What a beautiful respite that Jenni has created for her guests! I was looking for an escape from the City for my boyfriend’s birthday where he was in need of quiet time and the Forest & Flower’s retreat fit the bill!
The house is just lovely and the description… from the comfortable bedding/linens to the relaxing aromatherapy lotions (rose hand lotion and lavender pillow sprays), meditation space in the living room with cushions and song bowl included, were some of the highlights for setting the mood for relaxation.
All the amenities you need in the kitchen for cooking and just loved the locally sourced items, we used the balsamic vinegar and oil for our salads and it was delicious! The grounds are beautiful with a variety of flowers and greenery and the outdoor clawfoot tub and shower are such special touches.
One of the best parts is the retreat’s location and its proximity to Moraine State Park and McConnell’s Mill State Park. We were only able to stay for two nights but look forward to returning where can stay longer and take advantage of more site seeing and relaxing at the Forest & Flowers retreat House. Jenni is an amazing hostess and was so responsive from the time of booking through after we checked out. Thank you, Jenni!
